As part of the 2nd edition of Umbria Green Festival took place on 7 – 10 September 2017 in Terni, Umbria, ENEA and the Italian team of the European project CERtuS have organized the workshop entitled “Towards the sustainability of buildings and cities”. The seminar, held on Friday, September 8, 2017 was focused on solutions emerged from studies of CERtuS project relating to financing models for energy retrofitting of municipal buildings to buildings of

nearly zero energy consumption.  Alongside the renovation of the 12 CERtuS pilot cases solutions the most suitable types of EPC contracts have been addressed and discussed highlighting the difficulties usually encountered by both contracting parties, namely municipalities and ESCOs.

The purpose of the seminar was to promote nZEB renovations and to support municipalities in formulating renovation plans that meet funding requirements, as well as transferring CERtuS’s experience and knowledge to innovative models of funding.
