On Thursday 26th of November, in the framework of the NEZER project www.nezer-project.eu, a clustering Workshop was held at Tecnalia’s premises, in order to share experiences on action plans and business models for NZEB renovations. The Spanish partners of the two projects, namely Tecnalia, Sestaoberri and the Municipality of Errenteria, get together to discuss about their involvement in the project, how this helped them in defining renovation schemes, barriers encountered and good practice examples. The workshop started with a general presentation of the two projects in order to find similarities and cross cutting issues to be analysed. Among the main thematic subjects discussed, the focus was given to the difficulties of financing and participatory mechanisms to undergo deep renovation projects. It was recognised that energy efficiency renovations need to be further promoted, especially by Municipalities which should impulse funding and provide good examples. Furthermore, strong social actions are needed and should be focused on quality of life improvements in order to engage as many end users as possible. Several financing mechanisms, including public private partnership, are needed to widespread energetic renovations.
